Solar and power questions
How do I know what size solar panel I need?
It depends on what you want to power. Phones and lights require minimal wattage. Refrigerators, heaters, and tools require more. If you’re new to solar, start with a portable power station and a 100W–200W panel — then scale up as your needs grow.
Do solar panels work in cloudy weather?
Yes. Solar panels still generate power on cloudy days — just at reduced output. Pair them with battery storage so you always have power when you need it.
Are portable power stations safe indoors?
Yes. Unlike gas generators, battery power stations produce no fumes. They are safe for indoor use and ideal for power outages and emergency situations.
How long will a power station run my devices?
Runtime depends on the battery capacity (Wh) and what you’re powering. A 500Wh unit can run lights, phones, routers, and small appliances for hours. Larger systems provide extended backup power.
Can I expand my system later?
Absolutely. Many of our systems are designed to grow with you. Add more panels. Add more storage. Build your independence over time.
Battery and storage questions
Why choose LiFePO4 batteries?
LiFePO4 batteries last longer, charge faster, and offer greater safety than traditional lead-acid batteries. They’re lighter, more efficient, and built for serious off-grid and RV performance.
Will batteries work in cold weather?
Yes — but freezing temperatures can reduce performance. For harsh winter conditions, choose cold-rated or insulated battery options to ensure reliable power when temperatures drop.
Water, food and emergency preparedness
Why is backup power essential during a disaster?
Blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and fires can knock out power for hours or days. Backup power keeps your lights on, devices charged, food preserved, and communication active. When the grid fails, preparation takes over.
What should every emergency kit include?
Every kit should have reliable lighting, backup power, a weather radio, first aid supplies, and essential tools. Preparation reduces panic and increases safety.
Should I have emergency food and a bug out bag ready?
Yes — and don’t wait until a disaster is approaching. A properly stocked bug out bag supports one person for at least 72 hours and typically includes:
- emergency food or freeze-dried meals,
- water or portable filtration,
- flashlight or headlamp, emergency radio,
- first aid kit, multi-tool, emergency blanket,
- portable phone charger, hygiene essentials,
- and copies of important documents.
If evacuation becomes necessary due to fire, hurricane, earthquake, or severe storm, you can grab one bag and move immediately. How long should I prepare for?
At minimum, prepare for 72 hours. Many families prepare for several days or longer depending on location and risk exposure.

Can I install these products myself?
Many systems are straightforward to install. For larger systems or electrical upgrades, professional installation is recommended for safety and optimal performance.
